Customer Service Representative

Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and successful engineering-based business in the recruitment of a Customer Service Representative.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customer service or internal sales professional to join a busy and supportive team. The role is varied and fast-paced, combining customer service, order processing, quotation generation, sales support and technical customer assistance.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently whilst delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities to support sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing customer enquiries received via telephone, email and in person.

• Generating and issuing customer quotations.

• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.

• Providing customers with product information, technical support and order updates.

• Supporting customer needs from both a service and sales perspective.

• Assisting the external sales team with day-to-day activities and customer requests.

• Liaising with suppliers and service partners to resolve customer queries and outstanding issues.

• Maintaining accurate customer and order records.

• Managing workload effectively to ensure excellent service levels are maintained.

• Working within predefined pricing guidelines to support business sales targets.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience within a customer service, sales support or internal sales environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer support.

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Competency in Mathematics, English and IT.

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• A basic understanding of engineering products or services.

• Experience working within a manufacturing, technical or engineering environment.
