Job Description
Amour Recruitment is recruiting Customs Clearance Clerks for our well-established client based in Portsmouth.
If you have experience in customs, shipping, freight forwarding, or a similar logistics environment and are looking to join a supportive, growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods by accurately processing customs documentation and supporting customers throughout the clearance process.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing GB Border pre-notifications.
* Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations.
* Calculating and paying HMRC duties and tariffs.
* Issuing proforma invoices.
* Advising customers on GB customs requirements and regulations.
* Submitting declarations to HMRC while ensuring compliance with current legislation.
We're Looking For
* A background in customs, shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics
* Experience processing import and export customs declarations. (Desirable)
* Good knowledge of customs procedures and documentation(Desirable)
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel? (Essential)
* Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and communication skills
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. (Following successful completion of training, you'll join the remote on-call rota (approx. 1 week every 5 weeks) where you will take a mobile and laptop home with you in case of any emergencies or customs issues.
They also ask for Weekend On-Call (Remote) which is worked weekend every 4/5 weeks of which you'll receive a £200 overtime payment for every on-call weekend, regardless of hours worked.
Salary- Competitive and dependent on experience.
