About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and analytical Cyber Security Analyst to join their growing IT and Software team in Bradford . This hybrid role is crucial for protecting the organization's digital assets by identifying, analyzing, and responding to security threats. You will work within a dedicated security operations center, leveraging cutting-edge tools and techniques to monitor networks, systems, and applications for potential vulnerabilities and malicious activities. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
- Investigate and analyze security incidents, determining scope, cause, and impact.
- Develop and refine threat detection rules and signatures to identify emerging threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
- Respond to security incidents, coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and provide recommendations for security improvements to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a cyber security role, preferably with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
- Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm).
- Understanding of common attack vectors, malware, and network protocols.
- Experience with network security concepts and tools.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GSEC are a plus.
