Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and analytical Cyber Security Analyst to join their expanding security operations center in Brighton . This role is central to detecting, analysing, and responding to cyber threats, ensuring the continuous protection of the organisation's digital assets. You will work with state-of-the-art security tools, monitor network traffic, investigate security incidents, and contribute to improving defensive capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security tools for potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and provide detailed incident reports.
• Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify and neutralise emerging threats.
• Assist in the configuration and tuning of security monitoring tools to improve detection rates.
• Develop and maintain security operational playbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security recommendations and remediate vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a cyber security operations or analyst role.
• Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and understanding of log analysis.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors, malware, and network security concepts.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaborating with teams in Brighton .
