Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team in Plymouth . In this role, you will be on the front lines of protecting our client's digital assets by monitoring security systems, detecting threats, and responding to incidents. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of security principles, and a passion for staying ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs to detect potential threats and breaches.
• Investigate security incidents and take appropriate response actions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Implement and maintain security measures and controls across IT infrastructure.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or in a similar security role.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
• Experience with vulnerability management and threat intelligence platforms.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are a plus.
