About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join their dynamic technology team in Cardiff . This role is crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect the organization's systems and data from evolving cyber threats. You will work closely with the IT infrastructure and development teams to embed security best practices into the technology stack. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Design and deploy secure network architectures and systems.
- Monitor security alerts and logs, conduct investigations into security incidents, and implement remediation actions.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices and application security.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cyber security engineering or a similar technical security role.
- Proficiency in network security principles and technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
