Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Cyber Security Specialist to join their growing security team, with the flexibility to work remotely from Glasgow or another approved location. This role focuses on the day-to-day operational aspects of cybersecurity, including monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response. You will be essential in detecting and mitigating cyber threats to protect the organization's digital assets and ensure the integrity of its systems and data. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and networks for suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
• Analyze security alerts, investigate potential threats, and provide timely and effective response actions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and assist with remediation efforts to address identified security weaknesses.
• Support the incident response team in managing and resolving security incidents.
• Contribute to security awareness training programs for employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools, such as SIEM and IDS/IPS.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security threats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
