Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join their growing security team, ideally based in or near Belfast . This role is integral to identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks across the organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures, responding to security incidents, and ensuring adherence to security policies. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to maintaining a secure digital environment, with the flexibility of a fully remote working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and networks for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing timely resolution.
• Implement and configure security controls, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Assist in the development and updating of security policies and procedures.
• Perform regular security audits and compliance checks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a cyber security role.
• Knowledge of network security principles and common threats.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including SIEM and endpoint protection.
• Understanding of risk assessment and management processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CEH are advantageous.
