Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join their IT security team in Belfast . This role is crucial for safeguarding the organization's digital assets against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and implementing preventative measures. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of security principles, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to protect our critical infrastructure and sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS) to detect and respond to potential security threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
• Investigate and analyze security incidents, providing timely reports and remediation recommendations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices.
• Provide security awareness training to employees and support incident response efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors, malware, and threat intelligence.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
