About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Dairy Farm Operative to join their modern dairy farm operation in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for the day-to-day management of the dairy herd, ensuring optimal milk production, animal welfare, and cleanliness of facilities. You will be involved in milking, feeding, calf rearing, and general farm maintenance. This is a hands-on position requiring commitment, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in animal husbandry and dairy farming. The successful candidate will work within a supportive team, contributing to the efficient and ethical operation of the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform milking duties efficiently and hygienically, ensuring the health of the cows and quality of milk.
• Feed and water livestock according to established schedules and nutritional plans.
• Assist with calf rearing, monitoring their growth and health.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of milking parlours, housing, and equipment.
• Operate farm machinery for tasks such as mucking out, feeding, and forage harvesting.
• Monitor herd health, report any concerns to the farm manager, and assist with treatments.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dairy farming or animal husbandry is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work effectively in a farm environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends as part of a rota.
• Good understanding of animal welfare principles.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately.
