About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their analytics team, offering remote work from the Cambridge area. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring the availability and integrity of data for analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role is critical in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data warehousing, ETL processes, and a passion for data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes.
- Develop and manage data warehousing solutions and data lakes.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility for various stakeholders.
- Optimize data retrieval and processing performance.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs.
- Implement data governance and security best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Lake).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Scala.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
