About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and analytical Data Engineer to join their expanding, fully remote analytics team. This role is essential for building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and ensuring the availability and quality of data for analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SQL, data warehousing concepts, and experience with cloud-based data platforms, and is eager to contribute to a data-centric culture where insights drive strategy in a flexible, remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Develop and manage data models and database schemas optimized for analytical workloads.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations within the data infrastructure.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Data Lake).
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Scala for data manipulation and pipeline scripting.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT principles.
