About the Role
Our client, a respected firm in Bristol , is seeking a specialist Data Protection Lawyer to bolster their privacy and compliance team. This role is crucial for advising businesses on navigating the complexities of data privacy laws, including GDPR and UK Data Protection Act. You will work with a diverse client base, offering practical advice and implementing robust data protection strategies. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge privacy issues within a supportive and collaborative legal environment in the South West England region.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR, UK DPA, and international privacy regulations.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on their findings.
- Develop and review data privacy policies, procedures, and contractual clauses.
- Assist clients with data breach response and regulatory investigations.
- Provide training to client staff on data protection compliance best practices.
- Support corporate transactions with data privacy due diligence.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years of experience in data protection and privacy law.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and related privacy legislation.
- Experience in drafting privacy notices, policies, and commercial contracts related to data processing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise advice.
- Strong client relationship management skills and the ability to build trust.
