About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialist Data Protection Solicitor to join their legal team in Cambridge . This vital role will involve advising on all aspects of data privacy law, including GDPR compliance, data processing agreements, and data breach response. You will work closely with the IT, marketing, and compliance departments to ensure robust data protection strategies are implemented and maintained across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with a keen interest in privacy law to contribute to a forward-thinking company in Cambridgeshire , ensuring adherence to stringent data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR , CCPA).
- Draft and review data processing agreements, privacy notices, and cookies policies.
- Advise on data breach incidents, including response and notification procedures.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and advise on mitigating risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data privacy compliance.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with demonstrable experience in data protection and privacy law .
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other relevant international data privacy frameworks.
- Experience in advising on data security, breach management, and DPIAs.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
