Data Scientist - Financial Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Data Scientist to join their expanding team in Bradford . This role is central to leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to uncover insights and drive strategic initiatives within the financial services industry. You will work with large, complex datasets to build predictive models, develop data-driven solutions, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in financial technology and decision-making processes within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models for financial forecasting, risk assessment, and fraud detection.
• Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources for analysis.
• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and evaluate model performance.
• Visualize and communicate complex findings and insights to business stakeholders through reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with software engineers to deploy models into production environments.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in data science , with a strong portfolio of machine learning projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience in a financial services context is a plus.
