About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale genomic datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Develop and implement algorithms for variant calling, gene expression analysis, and population genetics studies.
• Collaborate with research scientists to design experiments and interpret findings from sequencing data.
• Create compelling visualizations and reports to communicate complex data insights to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data analysis pipelines and databases.

Requirements

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in genomic data analysis , including familiarity with relevant software and tools (e.g., GATK, PLINK, R/Bioconductor).
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment in Belfast .
