About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Database Administrator to manage and maintain their critical database infrastructure in Liverpool . You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of all databases, implementing robust backup and recovery strategies, and optimizing database operations. This role requires a hands-on individual who can work effectively within our Liverpool -based team, supporting various business applications and contributing to the reliability of our data systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
- Manage database security, including user access, permissions, and data encryption.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as index tuning, query optimization, and data archiving.
- Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and ensure efficient data storage.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of database installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with database security best practices and implementing access controls.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
