Day Support Worker - Estate Team

Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy:

26/48/DSW/WEB Day Support Worker Adult Day Services (Estate Team/Horticulture Gardens)

Due to the Development of our Day Services we are currently recruiting for Support Workers who will work as part of a community whose purpose is to meet the physical, psychological, emotional and social needs of individuals with a learning disability within the Day Opportunity settings in Camphill Community Glencraig.

This position will involve working in the outdoor environment.

Day Support Workers will assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support and care to adults with complex needs and challenging behaviour, to pursue a valued life style by participating in meaningful daily activities, supporting the well-being and development of skills as well as enhancing and promoting independence, choices and rights within a safe and caring environment.

We are looking for empathetic and caring staff who share our values and a desire to help improve and add to the quality of life and well-being of residents and day attendees.

This position will require working in an outdoor Day Opportunity setting environment Estate Team/Horticulture gardens.

Salary: 3-Point scale, commencing on £13.45 per hour increasing with length of service

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am 5pm

Additional hours may be available in our onsite adults residential homes, through our internal bank staff facility.

Contract :Permanent

Closing date: 4pm- Friday 2nd October 2026

Essential Criteria:

NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or equivalent (In the case of applicants who do not have an NVQ level 2 or equivalent but have 1 years relevant in a day opportunities/social care setting, this part of the essential criteria will be waived).

Basic numeracy and literacy skills at GSCE level, grade C in English and Maths or Essential Skills at level 2( Literacy and Numeracy)

Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council

At least six months experience in a caring and / or educational support field

Ability to work as part of an outdoor team

Desirable Criteria:

Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences or equivalent

Experience in day opportunities or health and social care setting

Experience of working with individuals with a disability

Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour

Knowledge of the values of the organisation
