Our client seeks a dependable and physically fit Delivery Driver to join their logistics team based in Coventry . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient distribution of goods across the region, serving a diverse clientele with professionalism and care. You will be the face of the company to many customers, making customer service skills as important as driving ability. The role involves navigating local routes, managing delivery schedules, and maintaining the condition of your assigned vehicle, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the company's supply chain operations in the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily delivery schedules, ensuring all assigned packages and goods are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
- Safely operate a company vehicle, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Load and unload delivery items, taking care to secure them appropriately for transit and prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly to the fleet manager.
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing customer inquiries or concerns courteously at the point of delivery.
Requirements
- Hold a valid UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a similar delivery driver or courier role is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of the Coventry and surrounding areas' road networks.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling packages of various sizes and weights.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
