Delivery Manager

Bristol | Hybrid working | £60,000 to £80,000

Method Resourcing is supporting an established Bristol software business as it enters an important stage of growth and transformation.

The company develops complex digital products used by major organisations across the UK and North America. As its client base and product portfolio continue to grow, the business is moving towards a more consistent, product focused Agile delivery model.

They are now looking for a Delivery Manager to take ownership of two cross functional engineering squads and help shape how software is delivered across the organisation.

The opportunity

You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and external development partners to ensure teams understand what they are delivering, why it matters and when it needs to be completed.

This is not a role for someone who simply facilitates ceremonies. You will take genuine ownership of delivery, helping teams manage priorities, remove blockers and balance quality with commercial and regulatory deadlines.

The business is still developing its Agile capability, giving you the opportunity to influence processes, introduce practical improvements and create greater visibility across delivery.

What you will be doing

• Leading the delivery of work across two software engineering squads
• Working with Product Managers from initial planning through to release
• Facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies
• Managing timelines, risks, dependencies and competing priorities
• Removing blockers and protecting teams from unnecessary disruption
• Creating clear visibility of delivery progress and team performance
• Supporting collaboration across Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders
• Helping establish consistent and effective ways of working
• Coordinating permanent employees and external development partners
• Building an environment where people feel supported, accountable and able to perform at their best

What we are looking for

• Experience as an Agile Delivery Manager, Software Delivery Manager or Delivery Lead
• A background leading cross functional software or digital product teams
• Experience managing more than one squad or workstream
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methods, including Scrum or Kanban
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams
• Confidence managing delivery plans, deadlines, risks and dependencies
• A people focused leadership style with strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently and take ownership without waiting for direction
• A practical approach to Agile, adapting processes to suit the needs of the team
• Experience within pensions or financial services would be useful but is not essential. The priority is finding someone with the right software delivery experience, mindset and ability to build strong relationships.

Working arrangements

The position is based in Bristol with typically one day each week in the office. There may be occasions when additional attendance is useful, so candidates must be within a practical commuting distance.

The business supports flexible working and understands that people have commitments outside work.

Package

• Salary between £60,000 and £80,000 depending on experience
• 25 days annual leave plus public holidays
• Annual leave increasing with length of service
• Option to buy or sell up to one week of annual leave
• 5% employer pension contribution
