Delivery Team Leader

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Delivery Team Leader to oversee their delivery operations in Belfast . This role requires a hands-on approach to managing a team of delivery drivers, ensuring that all deliveries are made efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for motivating your team, managing schedules, and ensuring operational targets are met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and delivery processes within the Northern Ireland region, playing a key role in the success of our client’s distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of delivery drivers to achieve performance goals.
• Oversee daily delivery schedules, ensuring efficient route planning and timely execution.
• Monitor driver performance, providing feedback and addressing any issues or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and company regulations.
• Manage vehicle allocation and conduct regular checks to ensure fleet readiness.
• Act as a point of contact for customer queries and resolve delivery-related issues promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a delivery or logistics environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent understanding of delivery operations and route planning.
• Good knowledge of the Belfast area and surrounding routes.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Valid UK driving licence.
