About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Demand Planner to join their supply chain team in Reading . This crucial role involves forecasting product demand accurately to ensure optimal inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop robust demand plans that support business objectives within the dynamic FMCG environment. This position offers a significant opportunity to influence operational efficiency and contribute to the success of a leading fast-moving consumer goods company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate demand forecasts for assigned product lines using statistical models and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and commercial teams to gather input for forecast accuracy improvement.
- Monitor forecast performance and identify root causes of deviations, implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory levels to meet service level targets while optimizing working capital.
- Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing accurate demand data and insights.
- Analyse historical sales data, promotional plans, and external factors influencing demand.
Requirements
- Experience as a Demand Planner or in a similar forecasting role, preferably within FMCG .
- Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
