Demand Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Demand Planner to join their robust supply chain team in Sheffield , focusing on the FMCG sector. This role is critical for ensuring accurate forecasting of product demand, which directly impacts inventory management, production scheduling, and overall operational efficiency. You will work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop consensus-driven forecasts, minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory. Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and reliable demand forecasts for a wide range of FMCG products using statistical models and market intelligence.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to gather input and establish a consensus forecast.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to improve planning processes.
• Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize holding costs.
• Support the production planning process by providing timely and accurate demand information.
• Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations within the FMCG market .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Demand Planning or Sales Forecasting, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in forecasting software and Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple product lines and complex demand patterns.
