About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dementia Care Specialist to join their dedicated team in Norwich . This role focuses on providing expert care and support to individuals living with dementia, ensuring they receive person-centred care that promotes their dignity, comfort, and quality of life. You will work closely with residents, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to implement specialised care strategies, manage challenging behaviours, and create a supportive and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement person-centred care plans specifically tailored for individuals with dementia.
• Provide direct care, assisting with personal needs, mobility, and daily living activities with sensitivity.
• Manage and support individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours associated with dementia, using de-escalation techniques.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities designed to stimulate cognitive function and promote well-being.
• Provide emotional support to residents and their families, offering guidance and understanding.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and therapists, to ensure holistic care in Norwich .

Requirements

• Significant experience in providing care for individuals with dementia .
• A strong understanding of the causes, progression, and impact of dementia.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and patience.
• Ability to handle challenging behaviours calmly and effectively.
• Willingness to undertake specialised training related to dementia care.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (with a dementia specialism), are highly desirable.
