We’re searching for a Depot Manager who can bring leadership, discipline, and fresh thinking to a growing operation in Bishops Cleeve. You’ll be the driving force behind safe, compliant, efficient waste‑collection services — and the person everyone relies on to make the depot perform at its best.
What You’ll Take Charge Of
- Team Leadership — Build a motivated, high‑performing workforce where people feel supported, valued, and ready to deliver.
- Recruitment & Development — Bring in the right people, onboard them properly, and help them grow.
- Performance Management — Handle attendance, reviews, coaching, and ER matters with fairness and consistency.
- Communication Culture — Run toolbox talks, meetings, and open forums that keep everyone aligned and improving.
- Customer Relationships — Deliver exceptional service and support contract renewals and tender opportunities.
- Operational Control — Ensure people, vehicles, and processes work together seamlessly every single day.
- Compliance & Safety — Keep transport operations, driver hours, and documentation fully compliant.
- Fleet Coordination — Work closely with workshop teams to keep vehicles safe, legal, and ready for action.
- Budget Ownership — Monitor costs, improve efficiency, and protect profitability.
- Contractor Management — Ensure external providers meet every legal and operational requirement.

What You Bring
- GCSE/NVQ (or equivalent) plus CPC qualification
- Strong leadership experience in an operational environment — waste sector experience is a bonus
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and manage people
- Commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets and performance
- Excellent communication skills and solid IT ability
- Full UK driving licence (LGV Class2 desirable)
