Deputy Head of Year

Deputy Heads of Year are newposts. We have recently made thedecision to move from a \"vertical\" house-based structure to a \"horizontal\"year-based structure. Years 7 to 11 havea Head of Year, who is a member of teaching staff. The Head of Year holdsultimate accountability for the Year Group. They are supported by a Deputy Headof Year and expert pastoral teams: Student Support (including Mental WellbeingWorkers and an Early Help Co-ordinator); Inclusion; SEND and Attendance.

Thesuccessful candidate will have experience of working successfully with youngpeople and their families. They will be aware of some of the challenges facingyoung people yet hold the highest aspirations for Unity College students. Theywill also be committed to and use strategies that will ensure that all studentsare given the very best opportunities to be successful in all areas of theirlives. We are looking for a Deputy Headof Year with experience of working with young people to secure excellent outcomes,who are able to develop and sustain strong relationships and routines and whowill inspire students to engage widely across the College. Above all, DeputyHeads of Year will model and maintain the highest of standards at all times.
