About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Design Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering to join their established team in Belfast . This role is integral to the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative mechanical systems and products. You will work closely with a team of engineers and product managers, contributing to projects that require precision, reliability, and cutting-edge technology. The position is office-based, fostering a strong sense of team collaboration and providing immediate access to workshop facilities and expert colleagues for hands-on problem-solving and design refinement.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements and concepts into detailed mechanical designs and specifications.
- Produce high-quality 3D CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure manufacturability and product integrity.
- Perform root cause analysis on design-related issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Participate actively in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and technical insights.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, or similar.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with FEA analysis for stress, thermal, and vibration is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
