Design Engineer

Our client based in the Pontefract area are looking for a Design Engineer to joint their well-established engineering team. The successful candidate will have gained 3 to 5 years design experience, ideally working on Solidworks or a similar package.

The Role

As Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of a range of equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures etc. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative and cost-effective design solutions from concept through to production. Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing Engineering drawings using CAD software (Solidworks).
• Supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure design feasibility
• Conducting design calculations and analysis to validate performance and safety requirements
• Managing design changes and maintaining accurate engineering documentation
• Supporting prototype builds and testing activities
• Site work (e.g. measuring jobs) Working hours: Day shift Monday to Friday 39 hour per week. Mon to Thurs 7.30am-4.00pm. Friday 7.30am-3.00pm. Some flexibility with start times can be accommodated
