Job Description
Overview
A key opportunity to lead and develop a busy Design function within a specialist manufacturing environment. This role would suit an experienced CAM professional with advanced SolidWorks knowledge and a strong background in sheet metal fabrication. Previous management experience would be advantageous, but applications are also encouraged from ambitious individuals who are ready to take the next step in their career and have the capability to drive improvements, efficiencies and positive change within the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the day-to-day activities of the department.
* Plan and prioritise workloads to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
* Provide hands-on technical support and guidance on complex manufacturing projects.
* Work closely with Design, Development and Production teams.
* Review and improve departmental processes, workflows and working practices.
* Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, consistency and quality.
* Support and develop CAM team members, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
The Candidate
Advanced knowledge and experience of SolidWorks is essential.
Strong CAM and manufacturing experience within a sheet metal fabrication environment.
Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, production drawings and fabrication methods.
Knowledge of construction products would be highly advantageous.
Previous team management or leadership experience would be ideal, although ambitious individuals looking to progress their career will also be considered.
Able to identify improvements, introduce efficiencies and drive positive change.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
On Offer
A full time permanent position hybrid working with the majority of the working week being site based.
