Design & Technology Teacher - Dorchester

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to work within a secondary school in Dorchester . This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative educator who is passionate about practical learning and keen to help students develop valuable technical, design and problem-solving skills.

You will join a supportive school environment where students are encouraged to be creative, think independently and develop confidence through practical and theoretical learning.

The Role

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will be responsible for:

• Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Developing students' practical, creative and technical abilities
• Teaching students how to work safely with a variety of tools, materials and processes
• Encouraging creativity, innovation and independent problem-solving
• Supporting students through design projects from initial concepts to completed outcomes
• Preparing and delivering GCSE-level content where required
• Monitoring and assessing student progress effectively
• Providing clear, constructive feedback to support student development
• Creating an inclusive classroom where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider Design & Technology curriculum

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate teaching qualification
• Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology
• Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally across KS3 and KS4
• A passion for practical, creative and skills-based learning
• The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and safeguarding
