About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and adaptable DevOps Engineer to enhance their IT operations in Stoke-on-Trent . You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring efficient, reliable, and scalable deployment pipelines and infrastructure. This role involves automating processes, managing cloud infrastructure, and fostering collaboration between development and operations teams, offering a blend of on-site teamwork and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software build, testing, and deployment.
- Manage and automate cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain scripting for automation tasks and system administration.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administrator, SRE).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and configuration management tools.
- Solid knowledge of networking, security principles, and operating systems (Linux/Windows).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
