About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their technology team in Nottingham . This role is integral to bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining deployment processes, enhancing system reliability, and improving operational efficiency. You will work in a hybrid capacity, collaborating with teams both remotely and in the office to build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring security, cost-optimization, and compliance.
- Automate operational tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment workflows.
- Implement and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with relevant tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hybrid environment.
