About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their innovative technology department in Sunderland . This role is central to enhancing our client's software development and deployment processes through automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve system reliability, and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality software. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of CI/CD principles and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible to manage cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability of applications.
- Collaborate with software developers to optimize application performance and deployment strategies.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Software Engineer with a DevOps focus.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and configuration management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team.
