About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled DevOps Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring efficient, reliable, and scalable deployment pipelines and infrastructure management. You will play a key role in automating processes, enhancing system reliability, and implementing best practices for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud environments and a passion for streamlining development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize systems, and implement infrastructure improvements.
- Establish and enforce monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure engineering role.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their associated services.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is essential.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration.
