About the Role
Our client is actively searching for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their infrastructure team in Manchester . This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation, deployment, and scalability of our client's cutting-edge software applications. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, and enhancing system reliability and performance. Working from our central Manchester office, you will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to foster a culture of continuous integration and delivery, directly impacting the efficiency and success of our software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Develop and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for all environments.
- Collaborate with software development teams to optimize application performance and ensure smooth releases.
- Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the infrastructure and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role focused on infrastructure automation and CI/CD.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent understanding of networking principles, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and security best practices.
