About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their expanding IT infrastructure team based in Cardiff . This role is crucial for streamlining and automating the software development and deployment processes, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our client's cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations, fostering collaboration and implementing best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible to manage cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes .
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure system security by implementing best practices for access control, vulnerability management, and data protection.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administrator, Release Engineer).
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS , Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and IaC tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash , Python , or PowerShell.
- Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system monitoring tools.
