About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their growing IT department in Glasgow . This role is integral to ensuring the smooth, efficient, and reliable operation of our software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for building, automating, and managing our infrastructure, working closely with development and operations teams to streamline processes and enhance system performance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure using cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues swiftly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS , Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Strong understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment in Glasgow .
