Our client is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their growing IT infrastructure team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring the efficient deployment, management, and monitoring of our client's applications and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in automating and streamlining our operations and processes, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment and testing.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability.
- Manage and secure cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure.
- Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administrator, Software Engineer with DevOps focus).
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to system management in a hybrid work model .
