About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their growing technology department in Cardiff . In this critical role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our infrastructure and deployment processes. You will play a key part in automating workflows, managing cloud resources, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployments.
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain scripting for system administration and automation tasks using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance and infrastructure costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Administration role.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their core services.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
