Job Description
This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The individual is an 19 year old female and resides in Hornsea. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support with taking her out once a fortnight. This lady is autistic and has ADHD.
They like/enjoy walks in the countryside, ice skating & cinema trips.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Taking her out into the community and supporting with activities of her choosing.
Hours
7 hours per fortnight on a Saturday. This can be changed to weekdays during school holidays.
The days worked are flexible, 2 Saturdays can be worked in a row if needed, with the following 2 Saturdays off.
Mileage while working is to be paid.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
- Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
- Be patient, caring and understanding.
- Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
- Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
- Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities. Business insurance is required.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
Travel
Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
