Discover endless opportunities to grow and make your mark at Hines.ResponsibilitiesThe Director – Financial Crime Framework & Assurance will be responsible for supporting the continued development, implementation and oversight of Hines' global Financial Crime Compliance framework, ensuring that Hines adheres to all applicable laws in the jurisdictions it operates in.The role will focus both on Hines financial services entities in the US, UK, Luxembourg, Singapore, Australia, and Japan but also on Hines’ real estate activities subject to AML regulation in the European Union, Mexico and others.Working closely with the Managing Director – Financial Crime Compliance, the Director will drive the development of the financial crime compliance framework, including the development of policies and procedures, risk assessments and management reporting.The role will also provide independent oversight of the effectiveness of operational financial crime activities, ensuring that standards are consistently applied, controls are effective and continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.Reviewing applicable legislation in various jurisdictions and tracking regulatory change, working with local advisers Develop and maintain financial crime policies, standards and supporting procedures. and ensure global consistency while reflecting local legal requirementsImplement and maintain enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessmentsDesign and oversee the Financial Crime Compliance monitoring programme.Develop quality assurance methodologies covering due diligence, screening and other financial crime processes.Identify control weaknesses and oversee remediation activities.Drive continuous improvement across the global Financial Crime Compliance programme.Provide technical leadership across the Financial Crime Compliance function.Coach and develop Managers and other members of the Compliance team.Promote consistent application of policies and risk-based decision making.Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and other control functions.QualificationsMinimum Requirements include: Degree level education in law, finance, business, economics, risk, accounting or a related disciplineBackground in financial crime compliance in investment management or real estateExperience leading organisational change and strategic compliance initiativesExperience designing and delivering compliance monitoring and assurance programmesExperience drafting and implementing risk-based compliance policies, standards and proceduresExperience conducting enterprise-wide compliance or financial crime risk assessmentsExperience developing and implementing compliance or financial crime frameworks across multiple jurisdictionsDemonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business processesExtensive knowledge of anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and wider financial crime frameworksExcellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive change without direct line authorityClosingAt Hines, we strive for excellence as a leading global real estate investment manager, driven by our by our belief that real estate is fundamentally about people.
