A London-based institutional private equity firm is looking to collaborate with an experienced investment professional to originate, develop and execute control and growth equity investments across its core sectors: technology, financial services, insurance, professional services and healthcare.

The firm is built around a senior, founder-led team with institutional governance and a clear buy-and-build strategy. This opportunity is designed for an established investor or senior M&A professional who is now looking for a platform with genuine ownership: helping shape the investment thesis, taking principal-level responsibility for transactions and participating meaningfully in the economics of successful outcomes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The firm pursues control-oriented and significant minority investments in established businesses, with a flexible approach to transaction size and capital structure.

The successful individual would join in a senior capacity and help shape the firm’s origination and execution, with scope to:

• Originate proprietary and relationship-driven investment opportunities across the firm’s target sectors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, management teams, advisers and intermediaries.
• Lead investments from initial assessment through underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, financing and completion.
• Help assemble and structure debt and equity capital around individual transactions.
• Work closely with portfolio company boards and operating partners on governance and value creation.
• Present investment recommendations and portfolio updates directly to the Investment Committee.
• Participate meaningfully in the economics of investments originated and executed, including performance bonus, GP carry, equity participation and co-investment as appropriate.

The model provides substantial autonomy, direct access to decision-makers and a clearly defined path to full equity partnership for the right individual.

EXPERIENCE

We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

• Substantial private equity investing or senior M&A experience, at Director, Managing Director, Partner or equivalent level.
• A strong, attributable track record of sourcing, structuring and closing transactions — either within a PE fund or from a senior advisory position.
• Personal involvement in leading investments end-to-end, not solely supporting deal teams.
• Genuine owner, adviser and intermediary relationships capable of generating actionable deal flow.
• Sector depth across one or more of: technology, financial services, insurance, professional services, healthcare or business services.
• Strong commercial judgement and comfort operating with autonomy in a lean, high-performance environment.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to participate directly in the value they create.

Minimum 10 years in private equity investments or M&A, with demonstrable leadership experience — whether managing teams, running a sector or geography, heading a corporate development function, or leading an advisory practice.

This could suit someone at a senior level within an established PE platform looking for more meaningful economics and strategic influence, a Head of M&A or Corporate Development considering a principal investing role, or a senior advisory professional ready to move to the buy side with genuine ownership of outcomes.
