Director of Racquet Sports

About the Role

Our client seeks a passionate and experienced Director of Racquet Sports to oversee and enhance all racquet sports facilities and programming at their exclusive club in Sheffield . This leadership role involves managing tennis, squash, and potentially other racquet court operations, including staffing, programming, lessons, leagues, and tournaments. You will be responsible for creating a vibrant and engaging environment for members, driving participation, and ensuring the highest standards of service and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of racquet sports, exceptional management skills, and a commitment to member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of all racquet sports facilities, including court maintenance, scheduling, and equipment management.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive schedule of programs, lessons, leagues, and tournaments for tennis, squash, and other racquet sports.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and manage racquet sports professionals and support staff.
• Promote racquet sports programs to members, driving participation and revenue generation through lessons and events.
• Ensure adherence to club policies, safety regulations, and maintenance standards for all courts and facilities.
• Foster a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for members of all skill levels.

Requirements

• Professional certification from a recognized racquet sports association (e.g., USPTR, USPTA) for tennis or equivalent for squash.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing racquet sports facilities and programs, preferably in a club setting.
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful programming and coaching strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of court maintenance and equipment management.
