About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and creative Director of Sports Marketing to lead their marketing and brand engagement efforts in Oxford . This role is pivotal in shaping and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility, drive engagement, and support the commercial objectives within the Leisure & Sports industry. You will be responsible for leading a team, developing innovative campaigns, and building strong relationships with stakeholders to elevate the organisation's presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a cohesive, multi-channel marketing strategy to promote sports programs, events, and brand initiatives.
- Oversee all aspects of marketing, including digital marketing, content creation, public relations, social media management, and event marketing.
- Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and a strong return on investment.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners, sponsors, athletes, and community organisations in Oxford and beyond.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in sports marketing or brand management, with a strong track record of success.
- Proven experience in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong understanding of the Leisure & Sports industry, including current market trends and consumer behaviour.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
