Overview
As a Director in Deloitte’s Actuarial Insurance practice, you will shape strategy, lead client engagements, and develop offerings within the General Insurance space. You’ll work with partners and senior directors to grow the practice, nurture long-term client relationships, and mentor junior teams. You’ll tackle high-impact projects spanning reserving, M&A advisory, and transformation programs, driving value in a complex regulatory landscape. This role offers leadership at scale, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence Deloitte’s market impact.

Responsibilities
- Lead client engagements and cultivate long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor
- Own and develop insurance-focused propositions and contribute to thought leadership
- Develop and expand client opportunities through strong business development and networking
- Recruit, mentor, and manage junior team members across multiple engagements
- Oversee delivery of work packages with quality control and risk management
- Collaborate with Deloitte’s technology, vendor alliances, and other business relationships
- Take accountability for sub-areas of practice management (brand, eminence, operations)
- Contribute to a broad range of actuarial projects including external audits, reserving, and M&A due-diligence
Key requirements
- Qualified Actuary or equivalent via experience
- Experience in UK non-life insurance industry
- Solvency II/UK and IFRS17 knowledge
- Strong market network and reserving background
- Some capital modelling experience (standard formula or internal model)
- Proven ability to own and deliver packages of work and manage teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter with relationship-building capability
- Ability to challenge established processes and drive change
