About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Disability Support Worker for a part-time position based in Bradford . This role is designed to empower individuals with varying disabilities to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. You will provide essential personal care, practical assistance, and emotional support, enabling clients to engage fully in their community. Working remotely for elements of this role, you will collaborate closely with clients and their families to create personalized support plans, ensuring their needs and preferences are at the forefront of care delivery, fostering a supportive and enabling environment from a flexible base.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks in a manner that promotes dignity and independence.
- Provide support to access community resources, social activities, employment opportunities, and educational pursuits.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with clients, families, and the wider support network, including liaising with healthcare professionals.
- Implement agreed care plans, regularly reviewing their effectiveness and contributing to updates.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of services provided and observations made.
- Offer emotional support and encouragement, fostering a positive outlook and building client confidence.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred, particularly with individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting independence.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively, especially in a remote-supported capacity.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of clients.
- A basic understanding of IT for record-keeping and communication.
