Distribution Manager

About the Role

Our client is searching for an experienced Distribution Manager to oversee their distribution network operations from their hub in Derby . This senior role demands strategic oversight of all distribution activities, including warehousing, transportation, and delivery, to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will lead a team responsible for the timely and accurate movement of goods, implementing improvements to optimize the entire distribution chain within Derby and its wider service area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all aspects of the distribution process, including warehousing and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance distribution efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Oversee inventory management within distribution centers to ensure accuracy and availability.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the distribution team to achieve operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align distribution efforts with business objectives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in distribution management or a senior logistics role.
• Proven track record of optimizing distribution networks and managing large-scale operations.
• Strong leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
