Distribution Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Distribution Supervisor to lead their team in Edinburgh . This role is key to ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries. You will supervise warehouse staff, manage daily operations, and implement procedures to enhance productivity and maintain high standards of service. This position requires strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe and efficient working environment. You will be directly responsible for the day-to-day success of the distribution centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse and distribution staff.
• Oversee the efficient loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the distribution centre.
• Manage inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to ensure accuracy.
• Train new staff and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback to the team.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a warehouse or distribution setting.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards in a warehouse environment.
