Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor, based full-time in their Birmingham office.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established construction business delivering major projects across the UK. The successful candidate will support the management and coordination of project information, working alongside experienced design, commercial and project delivery teams.
The role offers the opportunity to develop your career within a structured Tier 1 environment, gaining exposure to high-profile construction projects and working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain project documentation in accordance with company procedures and project requirements. Control, issue and distribute drawings, technical documents and project information. Maintain accurate document registers, revision control and information trackers. Manage project information through Common Data Environments (CDE). Coordinate document workflows between design teams, consultants, subcontractors and internal departments. Monitor document approvals, submissions and outstanding information. Support Design Managers, Project Managers and wider project delivery teams. Ensure all project documentation is accurately recorded, accessible and distributed in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with document control procedures and information management standards.Education, Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a Document Controller, ideally within a Tier 1 or established main contractor. Must have experience within the construction or built environment sector. Strong understanding of document control, revision management and project information processes. Experience using document management systems such as Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex or similar platforms. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. A proactive and professional approach to working within a busy construction environment
