About the Role
Our client, a specialist engineering consultancy, is looking for a dedicated Drainage Engineer to join their growing team in Wolverhampton . This role is central to the design and implementation of effective drainage solutions for a variety of urban development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial schemes. You will be responsible for assessing surface water management, designing foul and surface water systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Design of foul and surface water drainage systems, including sewer networks and attenuation solutions.
- Undertake hydraulic calculations and modelling for drainage systems using industry-standard software.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and reports for planning applications and construction.
- Liaise with statutory bodies, such as water authorities and local councils, to obtain approvals.
- Assess the impact of new developments on existing drainage infrastructure and provide mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in drainage design, with a focus on development projects.
- Proficiency in drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage WinDes , AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations Part H, and other relevant standards.
- Good understanding of sustainable drainage principles (SuDS).
